Part of Dr. Karmen's effectiveness is that she works on being the expert in relevant theory and research while deferring to and integrating your expertise - your own experiences, insights and values.
Sometimes the change is obvious and actionable, and sometimes the transformation is based in concepts or a new point of view. Karmen's fidelity to pragmatism and function means that she's always interested in what works and how, generates personalized n=1 hypotheses and interventions to test in your real environment, and incorporates the results toward even-more-accurate intervention. All of this taking place within a comfortable and supportive therapeutic relationship.
